Louis Knight’s “American Idol” journey has come to an end. The singer from Narberth was eliminated from the ABC competition series at the start of the May 17 finale, which began by bringing the top seven down to a top five. Viewers are able to vote for the remaining singers throughout the finale (which airs from 8 to 10 p.m. on ABC).

“Thank you judges and ‘American Idol,’” Knight told the cameras. “This has been an amazing journey so far. I’m just really grateful.”

The top five are Dillon James, Johnny West, Arthur Gunn, Francisco Martin and Just Sam. Later, Knight took to Instagram to thank fans.

“This American Idol journey has been a dream,” he wrote. “It’s been filled with happiness, sadness, lifelong friendships, challenges, and ultimately growth. Through this experience I’ve learned a new work ethic – what it really takes to be at the top of your game, and the person I want to be, not only as an artist but as a human being.”

Knight is one of the few Pennsylvania singers to make it into the top 10 of the show. So far, the farthest a Keystone State native has gone was Gabby Barrett, who made it to the final three in the competition in 2018.
